Meet Wendy
My work is inspired by the animals, landscapes, and stories that have shaped my life. Each piece is created to capture a sense of character, connection, and the beauty found in the everyday.
About the Artist
Where nature, memory, and story become art.
For Wendy Fletcher, art has never been simply about creating something beautiful. It is about connection—to animals, to the land, to family, and to the stories that stay with us.
Wendy’s connection to art reaches back through her family. Her grandmother was a painter and a single mother raising three young children during a time when opportunities for women were limited. Before color photography became commonplace, she supported her family by hand-colorizing black-and-white portraits, carefully bringing photographs to life with color and an artist’s touch. Although Wendy never had the opportunity to know her grandmother, she has always felt a special connection to her through their shared love of art and creating something meaningful by hand.
Horses have been another lifelong thread in Wendy’s story. Her grandfather raised and raced Standardbreds with carts, and Wendy received her first horse at seven years old. That childhood love never left. Horses—and the character, movement, and spirit of animals—continue to inspire much of her work today.
Working across sculpture, original painting, and fine art photography, Wendy creates pieces inspired by animals, rural life, nature, and the places and stories that might otherwise be forgotten. Whether sculpted by hand, painted on canvas, or captured through a camera, each piece begins with something that made her stop and look a little longer.
Wendy Fletcher Fine Art is about preserving those connections—one piece at a time.
